Have also got some orders for custom bags so will get on with those now, managed to get some lovely fabric today after a trip to Abakhan so have lots of ideas, had some thoughts for some differant styles, so will get to work on those too - lots of pictures to follow !

Fabrics

Have had some questions about other fabrics for the bags - my local shop stocks the waterproof fabric mainly for tablecovering, so most of the stock has very large prints on it, which will get lost on a small bag. They do have a blue spot fabric, like the the pink and red which I may have to have a play with. Have found a few shops online and waiting for some samples to arrive, they have some stunning prints BUT they are classed as 'designer' fabrics so it will push the price up, I'm sure I will still get some to try though !

OOPS ! - Sizes

Have had a few people ask about the size of the bags - I have taken a picture of 2 bags with a standard 500ml bottle of water, so you can get an idea.
I have measured one of them it stands on the desk at 18cm tall, and across the top measures 30cm this is approximate, as they are hand made, the sizes may vary slightly.
I have had a few people ask about beach bags - I will have a play about with some fabric and see what I come up with, they will have to be a little more expensive, due to the larger quantitiy of fabric (need to find a cheaper supplier if this gets going !) - If you are interested let me, along with an idea of what fabric and I will see what I can do.

There is a contact me button to the left hand side of the page

Another bag

I have made another bag, this time in a heavy denim fabric. I will be selling these bags for £7 each - let me know if you are interested. They are a small bag - just the right size to hold snacks and keys for the school run ! At the moment I just have the pink and denim ones, but will make some and publish pictures as I go along , I have some other fabric to try !

Not sure what happened to the pictures on my last post, they looked nice and clear on picassa but one I have published them they look a bit blurred - if you click on them the images are better, can see something else I may have to play with !

A card made using one of the lovely NEW Lily of the Valley stamps - for a friend who loves Purple and has a birthday next week

One of my few Tilda stamps (although I can see the collection growing !)

A bit more sewing

Done a bit more sewing - I actually made this doorstop for my daughters room a couple of weeks ago, but just got it finished and stuffed this weekend - its my first go at machine applique, so not quite straight, I'm sure it will get better with practice.

Made this Brooch after seeing the tutorial on the Crafty Ribbons Blog - it's really pretty and I plan to make a few more to fasten onto bags - my daughter has her eye on a pink one !

Have also got round to making some bags - I liked the first one so much, I had to make another. I made these after reading Bag making Bible  by Lisa Lam it is one of the first things I have made without a pattern. The pink spotty fabric is actually a waterproof vinyl, which I have never stitched before but really happy with the way it has turned out, I have enough fabric left to make a bigger bag too, but I still think another trip to the fabric shop may be on the cards.

Quilting

I have finished one of the quilts I had on the go - this one was from a kit I bought in America and I have practised some of the new features on my new sewing machine - I am self taught on all of my crafts and this was the first time I have made my own binding in this way so I am pleased with how it has turned out.

Spider cupcakes

Cupcakes made for Halloween, just found the pictures on my phone and thought I would share - I enjoy baking too, but try not to do much as I keep eating it !

Card Making

Wedding card - made for a friend, I actually remade this card as I wasn't happy with the glue marks under the velum,
I just forgot to take a picture of the amended version, however I think this gives an idea of the card.

I have just discovered colouring stamps with promarkers and this is the first 'Tilda' card I have made - just need to figure out how to rotate it !

This was the first card I made as a commision, it was made for a friends mothers birthday - hopefully it will be the first of many.

Thinking of you card - the latest one I have made - again just need to turn it round ! - something to work on another day

Knitting

I also do some knitting - this is a knitted birthday cake which I made for a friend, along with a knitted donut and cupcake.

Starting out

Well here is my first post, am still working on setting up all the details of my blog. Once I have got everything set up then I can start adding more details of my crafts. At present I am working on 2 quilts - I have pieced the tops of both but now need to sort out the backing and then I can start quilting, I bought a new sewing machine a couple of weeks ago so am still playing with that.

My craft room also has a selection of cards which I am planning - I did card-making several years ago but stopped when I had twins and moved house several times, however they are now at school and I finally have sorted out my craft room and rediscovered card-making, things have changed lots since last time and I am enjoying all the new techniques and items out there !
